FAQ

Questions you might have

No question is too small. Here are the ones I hear most often.

Do you accept my insurance?
+
I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) and Cigna. I also offer private pay. Not sure if you're covered? Just reach out — I'm happy to help you figure it out before you commit to anything.
Do you offer telehealth or in-person sessions?
+
I offer telehealth sessions — you can meet with me from anywhere in Massachusetts or Illinois. All you need is a quiet space and a phone or computer.
What's the first session like?
+
The first session is really just a conversation. We'll talk about what's bringing you in, what you're hoping for, and what life has been like. There's no pressure to share more than you're ready to.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
+
If you've been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like something just isn't right — that's enough of a reason. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy.
What if I'm not ready to commit to regular sessions?
+
That's completely okay. Start with a free 15-minute call — no commitment required at that stage.
Do you work with couples?
+
Yes — I work with both individuals and couples navigating relationship challenges, communication, and major life transitions.
Do you offer sessions in Cape Verdean Creole?
+
Yes! I'm fluent in Cape Verdean Creole and can offer full sessions in Creole. Language should never be a barrier to getting support.
How long does therapy usually take?
+
It depends on what you're working through. Some people feel big shifts in a few months; others prefer longer support. We'll talk about it together.
